Baby at Week 36

Baby is 36 weeks already... time flies so fast... baby is going to pop out anytime... hee... yest went to see doctor... baby on 4 Dec 2009 is weighing at 2.8kg already... as of last check up, which she is at 34 weeks... on 20 Nov 2009, she is weighing at 2.339kg... she gain quite a lot of weight... i could say she will definately hit above 3kg when born... cos yest doc just told me should be end of this mth... how i hope baby will be a christmas baby... keke... when ppl ask me do i feel excited or scared... actually i really dunno... somehow mix feelings... definately i will feel scared lah... its first time giving birth mah.. n i dunno how pain it will be... but to think of can see baby soon... i really feel looking forward to it... i believe her daddy oso looking forward to baby coming out soon... today daddy training himself to learn how to take care of baby... he look after rachelle for a while... think he really likes to play wif baby now... initially, i still feel he like not fatherly enough n scared he dun like kids... but no lor... i feel he's more anxious than me sometimes... think he will dote on baby a lot next time... recently we been busy washing her clothes, bedsheet etc... suddenly realise we have bought so many things for her already.... keke...

baby is wif more n more strength now... she can kick me so hard... she will always play wif her fingers... n we can feel her fingers... the feeling is so special... but baby will be naughty at times... just like last night, after back from my company dinner... we are already so tired and slept at 2am... then baby disturb my sleep and wake me up at 5am... no matter which way i sleep, she will like poke me and make me uncomfortable... i tired to sleep but i cant.. so i feel maybe its becos she's hungry, cos i could feel a bit hungry... then i wake up to surf net and make some milk to drink... she still so active and kick me, push me here and there... just like now, i am typing and she's kicking and pushing me... maybe she knows i am talking abt her here... then only at 7am then i went back to sleep, think she drank milk already and becomes not so grouchy... so she finally allow me to sleep a while more.... hope she will be more guai tis few weeks more... if not, if she makes me lost sleep every night, i dunno how i am going to work the next day... baby, be more guai ok? mummy & daddy waiting for ur arrival... Updates on Baby

Recently too busy to write blog.. but some quick updates on baby kaylia... as of 16 October 2009 which is 28 weeks 7 days... baby weigh abt 1.355Kg... at then, i cant imagine my waist to be 39".. baby is growing bigger n bigger.. my weight was abt 55kg then...

As of 6 November 2009 which is 31 weeks 7 days... baby weigh 1.8Kg.. my weight is abt 56.5kg... my waist is abt 40.5"..

2 more weeks which is 20 November 2009, i going to see gynae for my baby latest development... hope she's fine and weight everything will be ok....

i was so worried recently, i scared my sugar level high n etc... i was so paranoid cos my fren just gave birth and her baby weigh 4.25kg at beginning 36weeks... then i grow so paranoid and scared that my sugar level was high.. last week, when i did my urine test at the clinic, the nurse asked me to do my blood test... i ask her, wat happen? my sugar level high? she was stunned to see me asking tis question when she ask me to go take blood test.. then she say no lah... wan to test ur iron... keke... i felt relieved.... then i ask the man who took my blood test abt my urine test results, he say its fine... then after checkup, i ask the nurse abt my iron level... she say just nice... never fall below tis time round but still got to take care of my iron level by taking my pills apart from milk products... ok, tats all for today... when i am more free, will update more... recently busy wif work as to handover my things to a temp so that i can go on my maternity leave soon... but my temp is giving me problems lor... long story.. hopefully, i will be able to solve all my problems wif my temp...

3rd Trimester Coming Up!

Today is my last day of Week 24… Baby going to be in 3rd Trimester stage already… I could feel she's growing stronger and stronger as each day goes by… I could feel her kick stronger and more painful for me.. But it seems like she knows wat we are talking abt... when i try to wake her up and kick daddy... she will... just tat daddy got to wait for her to kick... my tummy growing bigger and bigger... till now, i gain abt 9kg.. meaning to say i am feeling heavier and heavier now... my legs started to cramp more frequently at nites... my back ache alot!! and tat is terrible for me... cos i could feel the pain and when it comes, no matter i sit or lie down, i can't cure my pain until i have enough rest, then my pain slowly goes off... but it will be back very fast when i am standing for some time...when i am attending the antenatal class in KK, the nurse mentioned that when mummy feels back ache, it might be due to baby lying on mummy tats y cause mummy to have back ache... tink baby really lying too comfortably inside tat i am experiencing back ache so often... i m looking forward to my pre-natal massage on 5 Oct... 2 more weeks to go... hoping the massage will ease my pain...

Last week at KK, i finally decided to buy the medela breast pump.. after considering for quite some time, we decided to get Medela Freestyle... We got it at $759 at The First Few Years at KK... being comparing the function for freestyle and pump in style... finally feel like freestyle is better in many ways... and of cos more ex in anyway oso.... since buy liao, i really have to be determine to breastfeed baby... if not, all these will gone to waste... we really spend a lot on baby... recently i seldom shop for my own things... so unlike me, but i like to shop for baby things... keke... it seems fun and nice to shop for her things..

Last week, daddy went himself to Ikea to buy the Chest of Drawers… then he didn’t tell mummy abt it… cos he wanted to give mummy and kaylia a surprise… indeed, I was surprised to see the chest of drawers, installed and place nicely at baby's room… dunno wat surprise will daddy give again for the coming weeks... he still got plenty of things to do... eg paint baby room and decorating... think he's not getting himself free oso... got plenty of stuff waiting for him to do...

Yesterday I went to Isetan private sale… bought clarins products… cos got 20% off… so bought a toner and moisturiser… which cost me abt $94… then I buy 2 mphosis pouch… 3 home shorts for myself… 1 water container, and the rest… all small baby stuffs… I bought nuk pacifier... cos the lady told me tat the design is flat so its good for baby jaw development... so i choose nuk instead of avent in the end... oso got a pacifier holder... pigeon powder puff, cotton buds, seat belt protector, and some bibs... the bibs when i came back, i realise i dun like the shape... like odd shape n the cloth not nice... maybe still will let baby use at home lor... if not wasted oso... $6 somemore leh...

See if this week, if can, maybe we will be getting baby cot for baby… tmr going to visit gynae to see baby… recently I keep feeling the middle of my upper tummy very painful… but its not constantly one.. So I believe must be gal gal doing something inside poking me or wat... tmr going to ask doctor abt it...

Graco Playpen & Bumbo Seat

On 7 Aug 2009, when Isetan having baby fair, we bought a graco playpen & bumbo seat for baby... we bought the playpen at $199 where other places selling at $299... so still a good buy then... but the best buy is the bumbo seat... we bought at $49.90... so happy to buy things for baby.... it has been so long since i last buy things for myself.. haha... cos nothing much for me to buy oso... ~boring~ but at least can buy baby things... we apply for isetan card... and plus the playpen, and clothings, and set of baby pillow with bolsters, we pay abt $250... and we got back $25 voucher... so we used the vouvher to buy the bumbo... its really great buy... cos worth it lor... haha... the Isetan lady even tell me ur husband good at all tis huh... haha... cos he settled everything, while i busy looking at things... hope there's somemore fair n i could have better discounts in buying things for baby...

We bought BabyPlus on 1 Aug 2009... so since then i have been using it for 3 weeks... we bought it at $288... it was quite expensive for something we dunno if it is really useful... but one thing, baby started to kick me when i am 17 weeks... it really generate her reaction.. actually we were wondering if baby likes or dun like the babyplus... cos it might be quite noisy for her... but still we bought... cos the main feature of the babyplus is to help baby to reach her milestone earlier and wont be a grouchy baby next time... i am at my lesson 3 rite now...think baby is used to it already... although i tried to follow everyday 10am & 10pm per day.. but sometimes, i still overshot by abit... hee...

Initially when i started using babyplus in office, i find it quite irritating in a way... cos everybody asked me wat's tat? n everybody doubting the use of it... although i oso a bit doubt on it lah... but buy already mah... so must use it lor... never try how u will know... n the most disgusting part is ppl keep telling me this kind of sound where got nice for baby to hear? should let baby hear music mah.. of cos music i oso let baby hear but tis is different mah... tis is with education purposes mah... haizz.. sometimes i regretted using it in office... but if early in the morning, i use at home, it will be too early for me... n i need to bath so if wearing tat, i am not able to bath... so the only choice is office... haizz... hope ppl will stop asking me and giving me comments on my babyplus...

Ours is a baby girl

Yesterday, i went for the detailed scanning... cos i have hit my 20 weeks... i never imagine it to be so detailed as in the see the baby's brain, heart, kidneys, lungs, bones, spine and etc... when doctor tried to explain to us the medical terms, he could see that we dun understand him... haha.. both of us are like staring at the screen dunno wat's happenning... so he told us... its very technical... keke... i could see baby is growing fine with all the features on... although i dun understand the doctor's saying, but i could see baby's eyes, nose, hands, feets, etc... they are all growing fine... then when comes to the sex organ, yong was asking the doctor, is baby a gal or a boy... haha... then doctor showed him baby is a girl... keke... i think tats the most impt part we are eager to know... hee.. we scan for about 15-20mins... after the scanning, the doctor told us... congratulations, you have a healthy baby! we felt so relieved hearing that... at least dun have to worry so much for now... then we went to see Dr WK Tan... she told yong, our baby is weighing at 354g now... n she won't be too big nor too small... she will be an average baby... then she put me on bed and out a round thing on my stomach... i heard "zzzzzzzzz" sound and some pomp pomp sound... it sounds like radio not connectivity like tat... then doctor told me... the pomp pomp sound is the baby heartbeat... the "zzzzzzz" sound is baby movements... then she said baby is very busy inside... keke... think baby is trying to swim again... haha... but no space for her liao... cos doctor cant measure her exact length as she's curling up already... then i told yong... a healthy baby is more important than the sex of the baby... Thanks god for giving us a healthy baby...

On our way back, we were talking abt baby's name... most likely, we will be calling baby "Kylia"... we been thinking either Kaylia or Kylia... the pronousation is the same but it seems like Kylia in words seems nicer than Kaylia... As for the meaning of Kylia, the origin is from Scottish and the meaning is lovely...

So baby, remember if next time you were to ask mummy how ur name comes about, u could read the blog and u will know...

Peg Perego Pliko P3 Classico Stroller (Moka)

We bought a pram for baby on Sunday... We went to Hypermart at Kaki Bukit... we bought it at $599.... Been thinking for quite some time so decided to buy Peg Perego... Have considered many other brands by comparing features and etc... but think tis suits us more... so we decided to get for baby... Actually last week at Vivo City Spring Maternity, we saw the pram selling at $598... but we didnt buy yet cos considering the limitation of colours... cos display they only have orange colour and the lady told us must check stock if still have the colour... we saw from catalogue considering red or moka colour... but we didnt get to see the actual colour... so in the end we didnt buy...

So on Sunday, we went to Hypermart, they have all the colours there and were on display... initially i like the model Switch but it cost $1,088 before 15% discount... n the weight of the pram is 11kg which is too heavy for us... but its really nice lor... but not worth it to get a pram near $1,000.... so we still decided on P3... when i saw the moka colour, i really like it lor... comparing with the catalogue, it looks different... so we decided to buy... cos the normal retail price is $758, which is true and we saw it at mothercare oso... then Hypermart got 20% discount so selling at $599... so thinking n thinking, we decided to just get... then we ask for freebies, but the person say dun have, maybe they can give us a fan at $7.90... but we think not worth it... so we ask for a 20% discount to get the raincover for the pram... the original cost of the raincover cost $59... so ex... so after discount is $47.20...

Kayden or Kaylia?

I feel so excited.. Coming sat I will be visiting my gynae again… meaning I would have chance to see the sex of baobao… 2 more days to go… been thinking of names for baobao… have come across many but not suitable… but my bro's gf gave us a list of names... then i saw tis name for boy.. which is "KAYDEN"... we like tis name... so we probably will name baby if a boy as Kayden.... then we have totally no idea for baby gal... then i suggest how about "KAYLIA"... although i find it ok... but if there's better name, maybe will consider to change.... so baobao... pls let us know u r kayden or kaylia.... we are excited to find out....

First Lesson of Prenatal Class

Last Sat was the first lesson of the prenatal class I attended… it was basically theory… on growth of ur body… to be frank… it was rather boring… cos mainly it covers the first 3 mths of ur pregnancy which I had already been through it… so it's just a recap of my memory.. haha... Baobao's daddy was dozing off in class lor... he even feel more bored than me... hopefully the rest of the lessons will be more interesting.. ~hopeful~

After the lesson, we went for shopping… at Sim Lim wherby Shangjuan and Qingfeng buying external harddisk & thumbdrive…. Then we went on to Suntec Spring Maternity to shop for clothes as there are sales going on…. I bought 3 pants, 4 tops at $100… for maternity range, it is consider cheap... hee hee... After Spring Maternity, we went to Marina Square MotherCare to look at prams... but after seeing so many kind of prams, i really have no idea on which to buy... ~confused~ maybe will leave to later part... but we saw the ferrari car seat.. cost abt $369 i think... its quite nice.... n can use from new born to few yrs old... so consider not bad... then once u released the seat belt, there will be a tone to alert.. so it sounds interesting... Followed by 6pm, we are supposed to meet for dinner with Kek & Shenise, Bird and Mag, Kang & Yuhui, Junsiong... total 11 of us at waraku... but we waited with Kek & Shenise until 7pm before the 5 of them arrived... Haizz... dun understand them... they always have to be late... ~puzzled~

After the dinner, we proceed rite back to Sembawang… at Qingfeng's house… cos we gals having a mahjong session which the guys playing texas holdem… baobao must be thinking both parents like to gamble… haha… poor baobao… dun grow up to be a gambler ok?

Baby Girl or Baby Boy

As my stomach grow bigger and bigger every day, everyone around me started to realise that i am pregnant... when i m abt 3 mths pregnant but my stomach is big... haha... ppl asking am i 4 mths already? oh my god.. it seems my stomach is big lor... haha... now i am weighing abt 44.7kg now.. my weight before pregnancy is abt 42 to 43kg.. so i am heavier by 1-2 kg now.. i eat everyday of around 5 meals a day... worse of all is even i finish a meal, i still feel hungry... it seems like my baby is eating a lot!! baby baby.... dun make mummy overweight k?

Question around me at this stage is u prefer a baby boy or gal? come to think abt it... i really dunno leh... cos sometimes, i like to have a baby girl... cos having a girl i can dress up for her... n girl is close to mummy mah... but on the other hand, sometimes, i would like a boy... cos boy is cute oso... can play more and more actively... but anyway, i dun mind either sex... so a baby boy or girl, i would love equally... in the past, i always hope to have a elder brother, so in my mind, i would hope tat my first child is a boy... then second child is a girl.... but i a bit worry tat wat if both are boys... then the whole house will be in a mess... but if both girls i can still accept it... haha... i bias... but i think i better dun think so much... and hope tat my baby is healthy and grow up well...

Tomorrow i m going to attend the antenatel class at KK... tomorrow is my first lesson... quite looking forward to it... hope i will enjoy my lesson tomorrow.... update more after my lesson...

When will my morning sickness go away?

Today i am 14 weeks & 4 days pregnant... i thot by now, my morning sickness is gone... but no lor... sun i just vomited again... ~Sick~ i hate vomiting lor... the feeling is so er xin... dunno when will my morning sickness be gone? hopefully by week 16, i will be fine... shangjuan knows the sex of her baby already.. its a boy! dunno by 25 Jul, i will be going for my next check up, will i be able to see? Hey, baby... be guai... let mummy & daddy see u are a boy or gal k? then mummy & daddy will be able to start buying things for u... so dun cover & show us!!

On 27 Jun, which was my Week 13 Day 1, i went to scan.. baby is now 6.8cm liao... and we show him/her swimming actively... yong says its moving here n there... but doctor told him.. no... its swimming... haha.... so funny... we are so surprised to see baby so active tat day... cos usually morning time, baby is sleeping... but tat day i remember its only 10.30am... n baby is so active and awake... haha... so fun to see baby... i love to go scanning one.. cos its the only time i get to see baby... so see u on 25 Jul 2009... be good!!

Oscar Test Results

This morning, at about 8.55am... when i was still in MRT travelling to work... my hp rang... i was wondering who was tat? cos still quite early mah... then i saw the no... it was from my gynae's clinic... i was so anxious lor... cos this makes me worried the whole night... the nurse told me... "ur oscar test results is low risk... i felt so relieved hearing tat... so i ask her wat are my probability? she say for down syndrome which is Trisomy 21 is 1:15000+... then as for Trisomy 13/18 is 1:28000+... Trisomy 18 is Edwards syndrome... Trisomy 13 is Patau syndrome... i felt so relieved and happy hearing my results... at least i know i will have a healthy baby...

Yesterday when i went to do the scanning of my baby, i was 12 weeks and 3 days... my baby is 6.02cm... initially when the nurse is scanning my baby, i saw from sideway, i saw the hand waving.. then shortly after, the nurse use the scan to knock my stomach and ask baby move leh... then i ask her wat happen? she say baby is sleeping.. dun wan to move... haha... my naughty baby... sleeping all the while.. haha... then she say ok lah... dun disturb u... i was so anxious and i kept asking her, wat is the thickness of my baby neck? she says abt 1.5mm... then i ask her is it normal? she says yes... and we ask her wats the range? she say dun go beyond 2.5mm will be normal.... but initially i still a bit scared... cos i seriously dunno wat's the normal range... but yong came in and watch baby oso... baby was sleeping lor... with one hand folded on the head... think sleeping soundly lor.. i think tats is y my morning sickness is always in the afternoon and night time... cos baby is always sleeping in the morning... leaving my morning a better day but not at night! but life is so amazing... a young life just came to this world like tis... living in my womb for this 40 weeks before bringing him to the world... and although baby is only 6cm now... but i feel happy seeing his whole body, nose, hands and legs... Sat, i going to visit my gynae again... so sat i will be able to see baby again... n i will be getting my scan photo during the oscar test from my gynae... ~happy~ waiting for sat to come...

My Initial Pregnancy

I found myself pregnant on 27 April 2009, Monday. I visited a GP at Sembawang Healthway Clinic with yong. I did a urine pregnancy test before i went in to see the doctor. When we are in, the doctor kept asking me a lot of questions which i was wondering am i pregnant? Y is he asking so much? Then he went out and ask the nurse if how long ago did i took the test? The nurse told him 15 mins ago. So he told us maybe we can come back a week later to take the test again... ~puzzled~ Then he continued... the test shows you are pregnant! but the line is very faint... so its better for us to come back to take another test again... but he says its almost 80% confirmed i m pregnant... so we say ok and went off... the bill cost us $42.10 just to test and hear what the doctor says... so expensive and somemore i cannot claim from company...

Then me and yong walked home... think at tat point, we still in daze.. haha... maybe too shocked to hear i m pregnant... cos previously, i still complaining about him drinking, smoking and etc.. causing me not easy to get pregnant... haha... then we went home and decided what if next week, i visit the GP again, and again answer not 100% confirmed! then i will wasting money again... so we decided to visit gynae.. cos i thought through scanning will be able to tell... so i called Dr Yvonne Chan's clinic.. the nurse ask me my last mensus start date, which was 22 March 2009. Then she told me Dr Yvonne Chan cannot take me... so sad.. so i have to look for another gynae... i browse through forum and saw that quite a no of ppl recommend Dr WK Tan.. so i went to find out the contact no and call the clinic.. As due to yong going for his philipines trip on 4 May 2009, so i try to make appointment on the last week of April... and the nurse ask me to visit Dr Mabeline Tan for the first appointment, as Dr WK Tan is fully booked for that week... so i accepted and visited Dr Mabeline Tan on 30 April 2009... we were a bit blur during our first visit.. then we register and they took my finger blood test and urine test... When we step in to Dr Mabeline Tan's Clinic, she ask me a few questions, then i went over to the bed to do scanning and check up... she took my pap smear test and check my breast... its a bit embarrasing but still ok, cos she's a female doctor... then she tried to do vagina scan... but she cant seems to find anything... until she found a small dot... but she cant confirmed is tat my baby... and she told me a lot saying i have to come back next week.. if not, she scared what if it is etopic pregnancy, then they will need to access the situation... but she says, if we wan to know if i am really pregnant, i can do a blood test and the results will be out in a few hours time... so i did, n i regretted doing it.. cos it cost me $60 for the blood test... initially i dunno how much and until i went, then i realised... but its too late to regret... i was so worried the whole week... and i read up a lot about etopic pregnancy... then my next appointment was with Dr WK Tan on the 7 May 2009, Thursday.. This time, i waited a short while only... cos there's not much ppl at 3pm.. haha... but i wasted my leave lor... i went in and have a chat with Dr WK Tan... she was a very nice lady.. and advise me a lot on wat to eat and wat not to eat... then she did scanning for me.. the scan through my stomach.. and says "u are definately pregnant!" she shows me that was the yolk sag and the baby will be inside... so she did vagina scan for a clearer view.. she saw my baby... but she says its very small... only 2mm... but she added.. not to worry.. at least its growing... she really makes me feel better... and i asked her how many weeks am i prenant... she told me 5 weeks 5 days... And my expected delivery will be between 29 Dec 2009 to 2 Jan 2010...

My next visit was on 1 June 2009... i visited Dr Mabeline Tan as Dr WK Tan was under quarantine cos she just came back from overseas... they only took my urine test.. but i forgotten to ask abt my results... but i think it will be fine cos Dr did not mention anything... i went in and Dr Mabeline Tan did a vagina scan for me... i saw my baby clearly tis time... i saw the head and body.. it was very cute... then she ask me to call my husband over to have a look... then yong came and saw the baby... Dr says so cute... looks like teddy bear... my measurement is 26.4mm at that time... she even show us the baby heartbeat... it was beating... and its really cute... at that time, i was 9 weeks 3 days... and my expected delivery change to 1 Jan 2010... if baby really comes out that time, it will be so meaningful cos that was my wedding anniversay...

My next appointment 22 June 2009, Monday, i will be doing my oscar test... really hope baby is fine, i really hoping my baby will be healthy.... And hoping to see baby in detail next week too... i will be also visiting Dr WK Tan on 27 June 2009... hope everything is fine... ~Praying~
